THE ROLE OF YOUTHS IN KENYANS ECONOMY

The youths In Kenya from kibira Nairobi

It is a well-known fact that the youth of any country is a great asset. They are indeed the future of the country and represent it at every level.Kenya is one of the countries in the world that have a large population of the youths.Countries like Kenya, which have a relatively youthful population, stand on the runway of economic take-off if they find the correct formula to harness the energy, creativity and entrepreneurship that young people have to offer. The youth are an economic force that can both drive and create demand for goods and services especially due to the growing digital economy.

In every human society, people must learn how to co-exist with others. The mutual respect and understanding are of enormous value for  societal  existence,  engagements  in  joint business  ventures  and  for  orderly  progress  in various  facets  of  human  endeavours. To inculcate this very important virtue calls  for  socialization  background  right  from childhood. In spite of rapidly increasing wave of egoistic  inclinations,  the  value  of  togetherness cannot be discounted. The disheartening wave of selfish and violence can be related to the outcome of materialistic civilization. In a nutshell, if there is  no  peaceful  coexistence  there  would  be  no society  and  without  society  there  would  be  no development and prosperity in the proper sense of the word.

As the  quest for  truth and peaceful  co-existence continues, youth are the key actors. Youth helped in  the  revamping  of  our  political  culture  and economic  structure which  to  a  large  extent  will alleviate poverty in the society. This paper presents findings from the role of the Youth  in  the  recent  2007-2008  post-election violence and  young people's  perspectives on  the causes and consequences  of this  on-going crisis. The youth is important because they will be our future. Today they might be our partners, tomorrow they will go on to become leaders. The youths are very energetic and enthusiastic. They have the ability to learn and adapt to the environment. Similarly, they are willing to learn and act on it as well to achieve their goals.

The youths have come up with groups which have led to a positive impact in the country. The youths are starting their small businesses since there are no job opportunities thus promoting the country's economy and currency. The youth have come up with ways of generating capital and setting their own business in the cities and also in the rural areas. To curb the increased number of unemployment. This enables the youths to employ other youths. Many youths have also involved themselves in online jobs and marketing, we are currently leaving in a word where technology has taken over. Most of the activities are being done online.

There are many platforms that enables one to work online, most of them being from well developed countries. As the Kenyans youths engage in this kind of activities and jobs, they boost the countries economy. Due to lack of job opportunities the youth have also engaged in gambling especially the betting to improve their living standards. Gambling has its own benefits and disadvantages but on either way the country's economic gets boosted whether there is a loss or profit.

Our youth can bring social reform and improvement in society. We cannot make do without the youth of a country. Furthermore, the nation requires their participation to achieve the goals and help in taking the country towards progress.Likewise, we see how the development of any country requires active participation from the youth. It does not matter which field we want to progress in, whether it is the technical field or sports field, youth is needed. It is up to us how to help the youth in playing this role properly. We must make all the youth aware of their power and the role they have to play in nation-building.
